Aspen Grove (Kent) Townhome

This was bank-owned and it was in TERRIBLE shape, i.e., stinky, nasty, smokey and just plain gross. Major water damage needed to be repaired. After my contractor got through, the home had brand new with new carpet throughout, everything repainted, bathtub replaced, etc.

Entry Before: Entry the first day I saw it. Upon entry, the smell was overpowering and the dirtiness overwhelming. The owner who lived there must have smoked extensively - I can't begin to describe the smell and filth. Enter Jenn Penn.

Entry After: Not much I could do here but add a doormat and a wreath, and knock down all the cobwebs. It kills me to not change out the butt ugly light fixture the developer left. And look how dirty the pavement is. Sigh. It physically pains me.

Eating Area Before

Eating Area After: Freshly painted walls and trim, and added a cute table and chairs, plus great art work. If I lived there, I would add a great little chandelier and woven roman shades.

Kitchen Before: Note: The power to the home was off, so the before pictures are extra bad.

Baseboards Before: Gross. Vacuum already!

Wall Damage: This was my first indication that there was likely water damage in the unit.

Water Issue: I was right ... water damage! My (smart alec) comment to my inspector was: "I'm not sure, but I think there might be something leaking?"

Water Issue: Hmmm... the water is running through and down the wall and creating a bulge at the bottom. Lovely.

Water Issue: Doesn't every wall come with a built-in faucet?

Water Issue: ...and it is raining inside!

Living Room Before: One shot of the kitchen/living area. I can't stress just how nasty this carpet is. How does one ruin carpet like this?

Living Room Before: After clean up, but before staging. New carpet, fresh paint, etc. Much better!

Living Room After: Like the kitchen, would love to add some woven roman shades and some great panels. But this isn't my home and I can only do so much.

Hallway Bath Before: Before picture of hallway bath (remember, no power). This is the bathtub that was damaged, causing the water issues.

Hallway Bath After: Bathroom after new bathtub and flooring installed, plus staging.

Master Bedroom Before: The big wall you see had an enormous bees nest behind it, so that needed to removed as well and then the wall repaired.

Master Bedroom After: New carpet and paint.
